Director of Behavioral Health

Muhammad Rafique Rao LPC, CPSC is our Director of Behavioral Health.  Muhammad earned a Master of Clinical Counseling at Regent University in 2014 and a master of Telecommunications systems degree at Bahauddin Zakariya University in 2012. He has over 10 years as a licensed professional and has worked within the correctional field as a case management counselor, cognitive counselor, and prior to coming to WTS HEALTH was the Mental Health Director at Halifax County Jail in Halifax, North Carolina. His areas of expertise include care management, working with men’s substance abuse programs, working with dual diagnosis patients and facilitating groups, treatment team meetings. 

Mr Rao serves as WTS HEALTH'S Director. In this position, Muhammad is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of WTS behavioral health and psychiatric service programs and serves as the primary contact to provide clinical consultation for site-level mental health professionals. He identifies areas for improvement and educational needs and assists in Clinical Quality Improvement and contract compliance. He monitors the implementation and effectiveness of Policies and Procedures at our sites and maintains a good relationship with facility administration, WTS HEALTH'S employees, correctional personnel, contracted providers, and outside agencies.
